I helped empathise and visualise the re-design of the International Finance Institution’s Intranet

The Finance Institution were primarily focused on re-designing, to move away from their existing old static design to more responsive and better user experience design. They needed a visual refresh, greater flexibility for their content and a website which is accessible on mobile devices.

The User Experience Strategy

The intranet should integrate the use of multiple tools, facilitate collaboration among colleagues and convert information into knowledge. To achieve this, the user experience focuses on people and their day to day activities, and not department mandates nor hubs.

Prominent Search

Search is centered and above all content. It is easy to find and accessible from every page.

Customizable Background

Defaulting to a curated image experience, users have the opportunity to customize the background image for the welcome screen as they see fit.

Personalized Widgets

This space allows for information widgets to display configurable information that matters most to the user up front.

Mood Board

Mood boards set the tone, theme, and feel of things that can be difficult to articulate with words. It may consist of visual cues to express ideas and inspirations.

Wireframes

We started working on the user journey to understand users needs through every stage of the website. After validating our decisions we focused on articulating the information architecture.

The second phase was to design a prototype of the website based on the information obtained from the discovery step. We started crafting ideas by hand and then we moved to hi-fi wireframes that helped us to have a first approach of the visual path for the website.

Visual Design - Welcome Experience

A Space for Me.

For the UI phase, we made tons of tests and research with the client to define the right typography, color palette, and images. Once we defined the visual path we took the wireframes and user flow to create a clean and intuitive intranet that reflects the company’s values and the main solutions of the product based on customers needs.
